Better known as El Cara, Jose Manuel Aquino was born in Villa Vásquez in the Monte Cristi Province of the Dominican Republic. He initially acquired his artist name El Cara as a dancer in the Puerto Plata region, which ignited his passion for music and set him on the path to becoming a singer-songwriter and producer. Today, Aquino is one of the most respected composers in the region, and his compositions feature prominently on the leading Dominican urban music playlists on both Spotify and Apple Music.
